Location and activities

Villa Russelia is located next to the traditional village of Kalavarda on the west coast of Rhodes, only 15 km from the airport and a 35 min. drive from the City of Rhodes. An organized beach with thick sand and shallow water is located 500m away from the property and offers facilities such as umbrellas/ sun beds, one family beach bar, as well as two traditional restaurants. The archaeological site of Ancient Kameiros, one of the most impressive on the island, is located just 1km from the house.

 

The area around Kalavarda village is an ideal setting for nature and tradition lovers. Its architecture and surroundings offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy nature at its best through various outdoor activities such as diving, fishing, hiking, walking, swimming, cycling, while the surrounding area has many local cottage industries and small units producing ceramics, cattle farming and agricultural products, mainly citrus fruits, cereals and virgin olive oil. It is undoubtedly the ideal destination for those who aim on a relaxing vacation while blending with the local traditions and culture.

 

Nature lovers and sport/exercise enthusiasts from all around Europe choose this location for swimming, kite surfing (In the area you can find kite-surfing facilities), walking, hiking and mountain biking. Its crystal clear waters and beautiful sunset view come to be completed by the presence of the imposing peak of Profitis Ilias Mountain.

The Medieval City
