Villa Russelia is located next to the traditional village of Kalavarda on the west coast of Rhodes, only 15 km from the airport and a 35 min. drive from the City of Rhodes. An organized beach with thick sand and shallow water is located 500m away from the property and offers facilities such as umbrellas/ sun beds, one family beach bar, as well as two traditional restaurants. The archaeological site of Ancient Kameiros, one of the most impressive on the island, is located just 1km from the house.
The area around Kalavarda village is an ideal setting for nature and tradition lovers. Its architecture and surroundings offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy nature at its best through various outdoor activities such as diving, fishing, hiking, walking, swimming, cycling, while the surrounding area has many local cottage industries and small units producing ceramics, cattle farming and agricultural products, mainly citrus fruits, cereals and virgin olive oil. The Medieval City
The Old Town of Rhodes is the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe, protected by UNESCO and combines a true medieval atmosphere with modern shops, cosy cafes and a vibrant night life.

The Aquarium
With an Italian inspired Art Deco design in the outside, the Aquarium is designed to look like an underwater cave in the inside. The displays include corals, crabs, lobsters etc.

The Old Port
Walk along the old port (Mandraki) and enjoy the fabulous architecture of the Italian era or swim at the excellent city beach (Elli) and enjoy a cocktail or a snack at the fancy beach bars.

City Beach "Elli"
Elli Beach is the best beach in the city, with small pebbles and clear water. It offers a variety of tastefully decorated beach bars and restaurants, which are also popular among the locals.

Sightseeing and Night Life
In- and outside of the Old Town, Rhodes city has a lot to offer: archaeological sites, parks, museum, fancy restaurants, bars and clubs and a beautiful Casino offer something for every taste.

The Acropolis of Rhodes
The archaeological site is dating from the Classical Greek period and consists of the Temple of Apollo, the stadium and a small theatre. Enjoy beautiful sunset views atop the Monte Smith hill.

Ancient Kameiros
The city of Ancient Kameiroswas one of the three large Doric cities of the island, which united with Ialyssos and Lindos in the 5th century B.C. to create the powerful city-state of Rhodes.

Sport Activities
Sport/exercise enthusiasts choose this location for various athletic activities in the nature. In the area you can find kite-surfing facilities, as well as guided hiking and mountain biking tours.

Kritinia Castle
The castle of Kritinia - also known as Kastellos - is a mixture of Byzantine and Medieval styles, its fortifications enclosing the ruins of the Christian church of St. Paul.

Kameiros Beach

Valley of the Butterflies
The Butterfly Valley Park is one of the most famous sights in Rhodes and will offer you the opportunity for a refreshing walk in its pristine nature.

Monolithos Village and Castle
Visit the village of Monolithos and its medieval castle. The well preserved castle is impressively built on top of a narrow cliff and offers breathtaking views of the sea.

Restaurants and tavernas
Visit one of the many traditional fish tavernas and grill houses by the sea or in the nearby villages and mix with the locals.

Agios Nikolaos Foundoukli
Pay a visit to this late Byzantine church and admire its 15th century frescoes. Walk in the surrounding forest before enjoying the view from the terrace of the nearby restaurant.
Rest of the Island

Lindos Town
Visit the picturesque town of Lindos with its typical white houses and cobble streets. Make sure to climb to the ancient Acropolis on a donkey and swim in the fabulous St. Paul bay.

Prasonissi Peninsula
The Prasonissi Peninsula offers a two-sided sandy beach, one with strong winds and one which is mostly calm. This location is a well-known surfer and camper Mecca.

Monastery of Panagia Tsambika
Climb the hill to the small church to enjoy the amazing panorama view of the tropical sand beach below your feet. Cool off at the beach bar or try yourself at the various water sports!

Monastery of Filerimos
This unique Monastery is devoted to Virgin Mary. It was built in the 15th century by the Knights of Saint John and still carries its original medieval flair. The view from the Cross is breathtaking!
